Are you the next one the Lord will call to rebuild his Church?
"Rebuild my Church"
The Lord spoke these words when He called St. Francis to His service.
The Lord speaks the same words to you right now.
Why else would you have begun reading this web page? There are no coincidences in this life. One way you can help rebuild the Lord's Church is by becoming a Franciscan Mission Sponsor.
It will change your life.
All Franciscan Mission Sponsors Agree to Do Three Things:
- Say a prayer each day for the Franciscan Missions
It shows (regardless of the circumstance) the justices of the Lord that the most important thing a person can do - pray! - is one all people can do.
Many of our Mission Sponsors say the following prayer for our Missions each day:
Heavenly Father, help your people throughout the world to share their light and love with others. Help us to let our light shine out and lead other people to your love. Help all missionaries to teach the faith by example and work, by prayer and suffering. We ask this grace through Christ our Lord. Amen. - Offer up a small daily sacrifice for the Missions
For example:
One Sponsor offers the discomfort of his daily subway rides for the poor in mission lands who must live 10 to a room.
One Sponsor dislikes ironing shirts, so she offers this penance to help ease the suffering of our missionaries.
One Sponsor attends noonday Mass each Monday for special intentions of the poor children in our missions.
Have no doubt that the Lord will show you how to make your own daily sacrifice if you become a Franciscan Mission Sponsor. - Try to send a small monthly donation to the Missions when they can
As a Franciscan Mission Sponsor, you are free to stop, skip, or omit your monthly pledge of $5, $10 - whatever you can spare - any time it proves to be inconvenient. There is no obligation, and you can stop whenever you wish.
All Franciscan Mission Sponsors and their special intentions are remembered in the daily prayers and Masses of our friar missionaries. You will benefit from their good works as you make them possible.
