St. Margaret of Cortona

Feast Day - May 16

Tuscan-born Margaret, orphaned early and misunderstood by her stepmother, was persuaded to leave home with a young man who fathered her son.

Her lover was later murdered. Margaret was so shocked by what she saw that she gave her life a completely new direction. She lived out her life poorly and prayerfully, gifted in extraordinary ways by God.
