Who We Are

Franciscan Mission Associates' (FMA) aim is threefold:

  • keep its associates currently informed of the Franciscan missionary efforts and needs of friars of the Immaculate Conception Province;
  • make clear the importance of the Church's mission to the modern world by seeking the necessary spiritual and material support; and
  • assist associates to live as dedicated Christians closely identified with the Franciscan spirit.

Programs

Regular support is provided to the Franciscan missioners and their people in the mountains and villages of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras as well as throughout the world.

Some of our projects:

  • relief for Hurricane Mitch
  • rebuilding of homes due to hurricane
  • building of chapels and homes for the elderly
  • food programs
  • medicine and new ambulances
  • nutritional hospitals for children
  • soup kitchens
  • support of the Valley of Angels orphanage in Guatemala
  • support for the Casa del Nino home for children
  • education and formation of future Franciscans, tuition assistance, scholarships at home and in the missions
  • care and support for the elderly and retired friars
